Simplythenews evening news
The day, as it closed.
This show is free, and always will be.
The news shows are free, in full, with no advertising in the audio and no signup to listen. We make our living from Simply The News, not from these shows.
If it's useful to you, the best way to say thank you is to support Simply The News. But you don't have to, and nothing here is held back.
The evening news is the fullest read of the day. It carries the stories that have run through the whole news cycle, not just the ones that broke this morning, and it takes them as they stand at the end of the day.
Phil Mercer anchors. Our correspondents read the stories they cover, and Phil reads what is left. Every claim is attributed; nothing is predicted.
It is made for the drive home — the one read that tells you how the day ended, not just what it contained.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants the day resolved rather than accumulated, in one read, at the end of the day.
Who you will hear
