Melania Trump-Brokered Oleshky Ceasefire Takes Effect

First lady Melania Trump brokered a localized ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine that took effect Tuesday at three in the morning in Russian-occupied Oleshky, in southern Ukraine’s Kherson region. The pause is intended to allow aid deliveries and evacuate about two thousand trapped civilians, while missile strikes and other fighting continue elsewhere, including in Kyiv.
