Russia freed seventy-four-year-old American teacher Stephen Hubbard this week after he spent more than four years in a Russian prison on disputed mercenary charges. Hubbard, a retired Michigan school teacher, was captured in Ukraine in two thousand twenty-two and designated as wrongfully detained by the United States in two thousand twenty-four.
