Russia released seventy-four-year-old American Stephen Hubbard on Wednesday after more than four years in prison on fabricated mercenary charges related to the war in Ukraine. U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff announced the release during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, following a personal request from President Trump to free the retired Michigan teacher.
