Francis Halzen Wins 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics
Belgian-born physicist Francis Halzen of the University of Wisconsin-Madison has won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics for his pivotal contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the South Pole. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences honored him for the discovery of high-energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin, particles often called 'ghostly messengers from the cosmos.'
