Russell Brand convicted of rape and three sexual assaults

A London jury convicted comedian and actor Russell Brand on Thursday of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault, while acquitting him of three other charges. The fifty-one-year-old denied the allegations, was refused bail and taken into custody, and is due to be sentenced Monday after Judge Joel Bennathan said he faced a significant prison term.
