Prosecutors Reopen Cornell Fraternity Gang Rape Investigation

New York prosecutors have reopened a criminal investigation into the alleged 2024 gang rape of a former Cornell University student by seven members of the Chi Phi fraternity, after she filed a civil lawsuit accusing the university of failing to protect her. Governor Kathy Hochul has called for an independent investigation into Cornell's handling of the case as text messages and a Snapchat group chat from the night of the alleged assault have surfaced.
