Flávio Bolsonaro leads first round, faces Lula in Brazil runoff
Flávio Bolsonaro, the far-right senator and Trump ally, edged ahead of leftist incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil's first-round presidential vote, winning 47% to Lula's 45%. Neither secured the 50% needed to win outright, forcing an October 25 runoff between the 45-year-old son of jailed ex-president Jair Bolsonaro and the 80-year-old Lula, who is seeking a fourth term.
